How do I make my eyes look smokey? what colours are best for this?

Smoky eyes give maximum impact with minimum effort. A simple sweep of grey (we love Bobbi Brown's eye shadows in charcoal and slate, 拢13.50) across the lids and lightly blended outwards, a slick of liner and lashings of black mascara is all it takes. Paired with nude lips (remember the rule: dark eyes = nude lips, bold lips = nude eyes) and a bronzed tan and you are good to go.

Typically you can use any colour you like (the popular ones are black or navy, etc.) but it's reccomended to use one that will make your eyes stand out.


Before you start actually doing the smokey eye, you want to make sure you have a good brush or two (sponge applicators aren't really in this group).


The best/fastest/most effective way to create a smokey eye is to get a black eyeliner pencil and fill in your whole mobile lid (from the lash line to your crease/socket) with the eyeliner, then get a black powder eyeshadow and put a few layers of that on top of it.


You MUST remember to blend from the socket line to the brow bone (but not too far), with a clean brush and blend into nothing, otherwise it won't really be a smokey eye.

NOTE: they aren't really summery colors, i'd go bright for the summer. smokey is soo winter.
greys and silver are best - if you google smoky eys or go to utube there are videos that show you best ways to apply the makeup
