Has anyone ever noticed that closer-set eyed people look like fairies?

They have eyes that curve upward and their eyes are closer together. Why is that? Is there any symbolism connected to this? Has anyone ever noticed that closer-set eyed people look like fairies?
No they don't. Most of the people in my family have eyes that are set further apart and curve up at the outer corners. We're German. I usually find that people with eyes set closer together tend to look more cross-eyed and they're eyes are sometimes turned down at the outer corners or just even across - not turned up or down at all.
