If you go to your eye doctor for an exam and contact fitting, he/she will let you try out as many samples of colors as you want, so you can get a good idea of what colors work best for you. He/she will then give you a prescription, so that you can order your contacts online or at any eye doctor's office. Arielle, I have brown eyes too and just played around with different types of colored contacts. I use Freshlook Colorblends for a hazel look and Durasoft 3 Colors for blue eyes. I found this website that reviews all the different color contacts types and brands, so you might want to check it out.
My eyes are hazel; it is very VERY frustrating! Usually I can walk up to someone and ask them what color my eyes are and they will look into my eyes, not knowing what the color is. Hazel is not just ONE particular color, really. So you cannot get colored contacts for hazel eyes. I recommend getting a lighter brown because it looks soooo much better in a LIGHTER color!
