What does a dead person's eyes look like?

In the movies when they want to check if a person is dead they lift the eyelid and look at the eye... why? What are they looking for? What does a dead person's eyes look like?
They do that to check if there's any kind of reaction. The pupils contract when exposed to light. If the person's dead, nothing happens, there's no reaction of the pupil.

However, that symptom alone isn't enough to tell the person's dead. Some kind of accident or medical condition can cause the pupil to not react even if the person is alive.

If there's no reaction in the pupils AND no pulse, then yes, the person's dead. What does a dead person's eyes look like?
Something to do with the pupil. It's fixed and dilated.
In real life you check the pupil reaction to light. this would show brain activity. But on tv, they never do anything medically right. If the pupils dilate or contract, there is brain activity. But when a person is dead, pupils do not do this. A dead persons eye looks like an eye, only no movement. you get a blank stare. Sometimes people die with their eyes open, kinda creepy. thats why alot of times their heads are covered with a sheet. Dont wanna look at it! eeewwwww! Hope this answers your question.
they are looking for a loss of color in the pupul
