How do i make my eyes look asian?

im playing the role of an asian guy (chinese i think) but im not chinese im indianHow do i make my eyes look asian?
Is this over the last airbender??

Asians are so burned up over it.

Well guess what, Buddha was Indian so there's a point to it all.

And just to throw another curveball, Kung Fu was taught by Buddhist monks from India who traveled to China. Before that, the Indian monks learned it while visiting the Bactrian Empire in what's now Afghanistan and Pakistan. Greek settlers brought it with them as ';pankration'; the first martial art. Greeks of all people are the fathers of Kung Fu and Indians are the fathers of Buddhism. The last Airbender is directed by a white American and it's starring actors of various backgrounds. Stop getting so bent out of shape. How do i make my eyes look asian?
I meant that it's directed by M. Night Shyamalan an Indian-American and it was written by 2 White-American guys.

Now asians are pissed because the cast isn't all asian, even though the story takes place in a mythical land that borrows from many cultures. Report Abuse

Aplomb is an idiot. All anime character look asian, who the **** cares if they have different color eye color or hair color, white people could have brown eyes and dye their hair black, yet they would still BE caucasian, and if an asian had purple hair and yellow eyes WELL THEY'RE STILL ASIAN. Report Abuse

Marduk.. A lot of things are taken from and borrowed and recycled from other cultures. Btw, Indian people are under the Asiatic cateogory, so get your wording straightened out. Report Abuse

You know, I enjoyed Slumdog, but even I'm not enough to think that Dev Patel would actually go on Y!A to consult about how to look like a character, unlike some people down there. Report Abuse

This is for Zuko, isn't it? Don't worry about the eyes so much. Yellow contacts will be good enough, and the makeup artist for the movie will just have to make one eye smaller looking under the scar. What I would worry about more is making your skin a bit paler. This is honestly not racist, but Zuko was animated to be a bit on the paler side.

If you really want your eyes to be a bit slantier, the most painless way to do it would be with precise eyeliner and eyeshadow. Make sure the eyeliner follows your eyelashes and then just deviate very slightly towards the corners you want to turn up. Then use eyeshadow and other cosmetics to blend and make it look like your skin tone. Tape will help too, but i really think it's largely unnecessary in the grand scheme of things.

I understand your concerns with playing a East Asian-inspired character, but the fantasy aspect does allow you some small liberties. Furthermore, as an Avatar fan I am glad to see you post this. The vast majority of the fanbase feels alienated by this production. It is incredibly heartening to hear one of the actors trying to remain true to the series. So I would like to say thank you so very much Dev. My best wishes go to you.

Good Luck! I know you'll do the role justice!
I think it is crazy that Japenese Anime characters look NOTHING like the Japanese people...they would mostly pass off as Caucasian.

As for Zuko being East Asian (Chinese), give me a break! He has qualities of a Chinese warrior (the hair, the clothing...), but not the physical characteristics. His eyes are amber, has anyone else NEVER seen a Chinese person with amber eyes? Yeah, I thought so.

Okay, Dev is a bit dark to play Zuko...but other than that, with contacts, he will suffice.

On the other hand, who the hell are the rest of the people who are going to be in the movie? I don't think they are perfect either...Katara's role should have a bit darker actress...but no one says anything about that...

This questions and the responses make me doubt how far we have come in the world...racial acceptance seems to be forgotten and people let their true colors show by internet anonymity. Disgusting and a bit frightening!
hmmmmm....

Is it even possible to make your skin lighter? Well, if your tanned then yeah, but are you?

Just do what everyone else is saying about the eyeliner.

They should have makeup artists to help you look like that.

I dont know what your voice sounds like, but it would help to try to do a Zuko-ish voice (lol). The fact you dont exactly look like Zuko doesnt matter a whole lot. Some people are just whining.

Work on getting Zukos characteristics down the most. Zuko is unique because of the way he acts, and I beleive that is why fans love him so much. If you get that down you will do good. The look will not matter by then.

So dont worry the movie makers will make sure everything is ok. I trust them to, dont you? If the fans get mad they will blow over.

Congratz on Slumdog!!!!!!!!!

Do you have a myspace lol?
Firstly if you wanted to change your indian feature into chinese. you need to bath a lot in order to get rid of your greasy dark complexion and a panda circle rounding your scary eyes.
well one of your eyes will be covered with ';the scar,'; the makeup artists will be able to fix the other one, probably with eyeliner.

dont worry about it. :)
No Dev, Zuko's not Chinese. theres no such thing in Avatar, it's fantasy. hello?? no need for tape! youre perfect for the money, i mean role
LOL you're indian and you have to play the role of chinese guy? huh........the world is turning in a wrong way..
lol....its hard to turn an indian into chinese trust me. ur gonna need a lot of tape and that nose is gotta get smaller too.
Hey you are that guy from slumdog!!

Just use Eyeliner! But then u would look like a tranny! Why can't they get a asian guy to play the asian role??
From your avatar, I thought you were chinese? u don't need to do anything. I seen many chinese actors who look like you.
tape the sides of your head so your eyes get all slanty and stretched out
Wow, there sure are a lot of celebrities online tonight!
