What are the small, somewhat transparent squiggles I see in my eyes when I look at the sky for instance?

When I look at the clear sky or my computer screen or other solid, light colored objects, I see small, somewhat transparent squiggles and other small, odd shapes that seem to float around in my vision but when I try to focus on them directly, they move out of my vision. What are they and what causes them? Am I just weird or is this normal? What are the small, somewhat transparent squiggles I see in my eyes when I look at the sky for instance?
You hit upon their official name, even if by accident. They're called ';floaters.'; Everybody has them, and now that you know their name you can google to your heart's content. What are the small, somewhat transparent squiggles I see in my eyes when I look at the sky for instance?
do you get them all the time or just sometimes?

it's normal to get those things sometimes, especially when you've got a headache/migraine.

ive had 'glittery' things, wavy lines and black patches, all of which disappear when you look at them.

if they're there all the time, go to the doctors/opticians.
